Respected Colorado Lawmaker Says Candidate Has Vision For Future

Flerlage for Congress is announcing the campaign has gained the endorsement of one of Colorado’s most widely respected leaders.  U.S. Senator Mark Udall, who has served the state in Washington for more than ten years, is throwing his support behind John Flerlage, saying the 6th Congressional District needs Flerlage to continue the fight for national security, individual rights, and economic prosperity in Colorado.

"John has specific plans to ensure that we protect Americans here and abroad, and plans to create jobs in Colorado, and across our country,” says Udall.  “John also knows that Congress must take the lead in balancing the budget while creating jobs and prosperity.  He supports my efforts to pass a line-item veto and restore fiscal discipline to the federal budget.”

Udall is in his first term in the U.S. Senate, and is the senior Senator from Colorado.  He served five terms as a U.S. Representative from the state’s 2nd district, and before that, Udall served one term in the Colorado House of Representatives.  He is currently serving on the Senate’s Armed Services Committee, and the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, as well as the Special Committee on Aging.

The Senator has taken a stand on many issues important to Colorado and the nation.  He voted twice against the federal bailout, and he voted against the Iraq war from the start.  Udall sees veteran's issues as a legislative priority, and supports a phased withdrawal of troops from Iraq.  Udall believes strongly in working for bipartisanship in Congress.

“John Flerlage is a man of integrity and foresight, and I know he will stand on principle, and will work to establish common ground with both Republicans and Democrats,” says Udall.  “His vision and plans for the future, along with his exceptional leadership abilities, will serve Colorado and our nation well.”
