County Leaders Say Candidate Ready to Lead

(Littleton, CO February 25, 2010) – Flerlage for Congress is announcing the campaign has gained the full support of the Douglas County Democratic Party.  The endorsement is key to winning the 6th Congressional District race.  Douglas County leaders believe John Flerlage has the momentum to win in 2010, and the vision and experience to lead in Congress.

"Families in Douglas County and the 6th District are concerned about the economy,” says Sarah Mann, Douglas County Democratic Party Chair.  “John has specific plans to create jobs and help small businesses.  He also knows that Congress needs to take the lead in balancing the budget.”

As a candidate, John Flerlage has traveled throughout the 6th District, talking not only with city and county leaders, but also with families.  He is listening to everyone; Democrats, Republicans and unaffiliated voters, and they all have the same message.

“What I’m hearing is that folks want not only someone who listens, but someone who is not afraid to stand up and do something,” says Flerlage.  “For too long, we’ve been represented by politicians who are more worried about winning the next election, and not about doing what’s right for the District and for Colorado.”

Flerlage believes the future is all about investment: in people, new energy and trade. Investing in people means investing in education and training for the new economy.  Investing in new energy means investing in solar and wind power and other alternative energy.  And, investing in trade means bringing businesses to the District that in turn, create jobs and prosperity.

“John Flerlage will work for my family, and all the families in the 6th District,” says Mann.  “He deserves our support.”
